Genius Lab CEO Challenges School Leaders: “Invest in Students or We’re Not Doing Business”

In a bold move, Scott L. Steward, the founder and CEO of Genius Lab, Inc., has taken a public stance against school leaders who are failing to prepare students for the future. The outspoken CEO has drawn a line in the sand, stating that he has no interest in collaborating with schools that don’t prioritize equipping students with vital skills like entrepreneurship and technology leadership.

“Why is it so hard to convince school leaders that students need to learn about personal finance, economics, and running their own businesses?” Mr. Steward questions. “Isn’t that what will make them successful and accountable in the real world?”

Scott argues that today’s education system must evolve. “Is it the pedagogy, the methodology, or is it just fear? Whatever it is, it’s not working,” he says. He further emphasizes the startling fact that 99.9% of all businesses in the United States are small businesses, highlighting the importance of an entrepreneurial education.

With the recent uptick in the number of in-school suspensions and student referrals for discipline, especially among African-American boys, Mr. Steward issues a further call for school leaders to create more innovative and revolutionary solutions. “It’s high time we address issues like student engagement and chronic absenteeism head-on,” he says.
